Recap of the first School for Talents SYMPOSIUM

June 1, 2022

On 18 May, 2022 we came together on Campus Vaihingen to celebrate the ideas of our first School for Talents cohort. Six student projects were showcased on stage, supported by a live audience, as well as family and friends who were able to follow the event via livestream.

The symposium and the ideas presented, were dedicated to the annual School for Talents theme 2021/22, "Reimagining Space – New Utopias". Space, and the interpretaions of the concpet, thus also were the common denominator between our interdisciplinary teams and their different approaches to the topic.

Over the course of the last year, students from different courses of study at the University of Stuttgart identified target groups, worked on prototypes and were able to develop their concepts from rough ideas towards real projects. At the symposium, they condensed all of these hours of work into short and entertaining pitches that held the audience's attention, both in the room and in front of their screens!

Many groups were able to benefit from the fact that their scientific backgrounds complemented each other and that different approaches and expertise were available in the teams during the project development and project presentation phases.

The topic "Reimagining Space - New Utopias" was interpreted creatively and sometimes surprisingly by all teams: from "Learning Space" to "Intermedial Space" and "Science Communication Space" to "Participation Space" and “Consumption Space” a wide range of ideas was covered.
