Organisers: EU-TRUST project and IWA Cities of the Future Programme
The Cities of the Future - Transitions to the Urban Water Services of Tomorrow conference is an
international conference jointly organized by the IWA Cities of the Futur Programme and the
European collaborative TRUST project. The programme focuses on water security and how the
design of cities - and the water management, treatment and delivery systems that serve them - could
be harmonised and re-engineered to minimise the use of scarce natural resources and increase the
coverage of water and sanitation in lower and middle income countries.
The TRUST project (2011-2015) was aiming to support Urban Water Cycle services in their
transition to more sustainable modes of operation. To that purpose, TRUST has developed a range of
diagnosis and analytical tools, methods for an improved strategic planning as well as management
and operational solutions.
