Integrated Study Programs

We are developing new, interdisciplinary degree programmes – starting with the pioneering pilot degree programme ‘General Engineering’.

The Concept: Studying Without Disciplinary Boundaries

The pilot Integrated Study Program "General Engineering" breaks down traditional disciplinary boundaries:

  • The first 4 semesters (a broad foundation): A solid, cross-disciplinary foundational education conveys the bigger picture of how engineering concepts interconnect.
  • From the 5th semester (focus): Students choose their individual specialization in a specific area.
  • Innovation in practice: Our project's interdisciplinary project modules and flexible micro-modules are systematically integrated into the course of study.

To realize this forward-looking study model, the following faculties are pooling their expertise in a first step:

Smart support from admission onward: An AI-assisted study companion supports students from the application phase onward. It makes orientation easier and effectively counteracts what is known as "summer melt" — the loss of talent between admission and the start of studies.
