What is the Inter- & Transdisciplinary Learning Project?
Shaping the Future Together.
The Inter- and Transdisciplinary Learning Project brings together students from various disciplines to work collaboratively on real-world issues in business, science, and society.
The focus is on real-world projects that are carried out in collaboration with external project partners. In doing so, the Inter- and Transdisciplinary Learning Project combines academic work with practical application and promotes exchange between different disciplines.

Please register for one project only. If you wish to withdraw your registration, please use the corresponding option in the portal. Once you have withdrawn, you can register for a different project.
Projects can be viewed from 17 August 2026 at 9:00 a.m., and registration is open from 17 August 2026 at 12:00 p.m.

The Interdisciplinary & Transdisciplinary Learning Project is divided into four consecutive phases, from project selection to the presentation of results. Throughout the project, you will be supported by advisors from the University of Stuttgart and will work closely with external project partners.

FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions
All bachelor's students who are already in their major studies.
Either 6 or 3 ECTS—it depends on how your degree program credits the module.
The project groups consist of at least 10 students.
No, the knowledge you've gained so far in your studies and your motivation are more than enough.
You can use the Project Work Portal to view the topics of the various projects and sign up for them.
Yes, you can choose your project. However, the number of spots per field of study is limited to ensure that the projects remain interdisciplinary.
The project topics are provided by the organizations. You’ll have a joint kick-off meeting and will also present your results to them at the end of the module. You can contact the organizations at any time with questions through your mentor.
A 6-ECTS course is expected to require 180 hours of work, while a 3-ECTS course is expected to require 90 hours of work. You will work independently as a group; you are scheduled to meet with your advisor only once a week.
No, the module counts as a non-graded course.
