Brief overview
In the CampUS hoch i Real-World Laboratory, possibilities for implementing climate neutrality in properties are analyzed and demonstrated using new and existing buildings on the Vaihingen campus as examples. CampUS hoch i not only focuses on different building types, intelligent technologies (AI, smart buildings, etc.) and neighborhood integration - it also works together with the people who use, plan and manage buildings in various formats.
A Real-World Laboratory as bridge between science and life experience
Real-World Laboratory
Real-life experiments are used to investigate the role humans play in achieving a carbon-neutral campus. For example, the interaction between intelligent technology and the respective actors is explored.
Buildings analyzed
The project goals are implemented in exemplary buildings or building projects that are typical for the neighborhood. For this purpose, buildings and building projects were identified in an evaluation process. Existing building stock as well as new construction projects are taken into account. The buildings were selected on the basis of the following criteria
- Transfereignty of the results
- Impact and interaction with the neighborhood
- Innovative character, option space for new solutions
- Diversity of uses
- Feasibility of implementation within the project period
The following buildings were identified:
