The German Mathematical Society (DMV) has been committed to all aspects of mathematics since 1890. It promotes research, teaching and applications of mathematics as well as the national and international exchange of experience. It represents the interests of mathematics in society, schools, universities and education policy. The DMV provides the framework and support for a wide range of initiatives and activities to communicate and present mathematics to the public. The DMV has 4000 members from a wide range of professions, from students to professors, from secondary school teachers to insurance directors.
The DMV Executive Committee is mainly made up of university lecturers, all of whom work for the DMV on a voluntary basis. Iryna Rybak (scientific coordinator from the German side) has been elected as a member to the Executive Committee.
